1. Avoid leaving donations overnight if possible. Unfortunately, there are some individuals who make a living stealing from unmanned donation stations after dark.
2. Leave donations of large furniture and appliances at your closest Goodwill store rather than a Goodwill donation station. Goodwill values your support and wants to ensure that your items are securely received and processed. Because our trailers are relatively small in comparison to the amount of donations they receive, they often fill to capacity and cannot accommodate large furniture and appliances. When inclement weather is a factor, many large donations could become soiled. For this reason, we ask that you leave large items at your most convenient Goodwill store to preserve the quality of your donation.
3. Please do not ask Goodwill Donation Attendants to value your donation for you. They are mandated by federal law not to answer, are not considered experts in the second hand market price field, and cannot properly evaluate donations. Ultimately, it is up to the donor to value their own donations.
